(10) ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES. 260

English language Challenges

I have to say that I finished a British English course five six years ago. It is true that, when people don't practice a language normally, it’s possible that they forget it.

And in my case, I forgot some things that I've learned in my last course.
This experience learning English at university helped me to remember some topics and gave me the possibility to improve my vocabulary.

In the same way I think that the use of blogs is a very good educational tool that didn't exist in my last course of English. It's a very good option to motivate people and improve their writing way. We can develop our thinking skills and creativity.

I really need to improve my pronunciation and vocabulary and I'm thinking in take another course, I hope to do this in Europe or Sydney, I don't know if I will have the possibility to do it the next year for three months (it's because is a very expensive plan)!

These days I'm using the English language frequently. Especially when I have to read in English a lot of publications, papers and books to do my thesis project, it's very important for me.
Also in my free time I try to use it watching TV, for example on Netflix. I try to watch series in English and if I need, just if I need, I use subtitles but in English too.

In brief, nowadays it’s very important that people learn one or two languages more apart from their maternal language. It's not because a travel, it's because most of jobs needs that people speak different languages, and also we can find a very good job abroad.

(9) MY PROGRAM. 250

My program

I think that my program is a very good option, is for that reason that I chose it, but if I could change something I would include some important things.
The program have only five main subjects and I think that we need to learn more about quality systems and some applicative subjects adapted to nowadays. It would be a good idea to do some visits to factories in Chile, big and small food industries to know how the processing way is.

The workload in the first year is good, but in the second year I think should be heavier (and being less important doing the thesis project!).

The length of studies is perfect because there are people who work all the day and they can go to university at night.

It is true that in comparison to Beauchef Campus, “we aren’t modern”, but I think that is very comfortable. I would include more green areas and a big canteen. I think the infrastructure is always in very good clean state… and the coffee break is incredibly good (and delicious)!

We use a multimedia projector all the time. The teaching methodology is good, but I think that some teachers continue being the “laboratory teachers” and in a Master we need more “practical teachers” that have more experience in food industries, in the action camp. This is very important for me, but in general I considered that the staff is well selected.

Another thing that I have to say is that we need to be more united… my classmates are very indifferent and I really don’t like it!

(8) WINTER HOLIDAYS. 240

ARGENTINA AND CHILE: PATAGONIA

The next winter holidays... I'm going to do my tesis (it is a pity), I hope to finish soon, because I have a presentation on August. It's possible that I'm going to be doing the last tests and experiments in that moment!
Nevertheless, I have a better plan and I'm doing a itinerary right now... Patagonia is my next adventure...I'm going to be "free" on November (just before my last tesis presentation)  I think these might be my vacation.
I have a ticket to go to Patagonia!
I would like to travel alone, a long time ago I can't travel alone, and I think that I like it, because I can visit the places I want and It's an excelent oportunity to think about my proyects and "a time for me". However if someone wants to go with me I don't have problems too.

First, I would like to start the trip in Puerto Montt, next I want to know Frutillar and Osorno, because the last time I was in the south I couldn't visit those places. The next destination is Bariloche (Argentina), I want to visit again to Argentina.

Then I want to travel by bus through the southern highway and taking some stops. Finally I want to visit Punta Arenas (Chile) and doing some tours near Torres del Paine.

My trip would last 8 days. It's going to be my last long trip in Chile, because I have to back to Perú. I can't leave Chile without knowing the Patagonia!!!
